Are you feeling stuck in your relationships, addiction, spirituality, trauma, or sexuality? Most everyone goes through difficult periods in life, wrestling with how to move forward with what they want or need. These important periods can last for months or years, causing you heartache, stress, and anxiety. It can be lonely, confusing, and discouraging to face challenges without support but at the same time it takes courage to reach out for support and guidance. It is easier to avoid what is bothering us, or cover it up with compulsive behaviors. In the long run however, the benefits for you of moving forward by moving through past or present difficulties are enormous. I provide psychotherapy for adults and couples for many problems including: depression, anxiety, panic, trauma, identity issues, sexuality, inter-cultural relationships, relationship counseling, spiritual conflicts, and personality issues.

My approach is eclectic, based on your needs. I tend to see relational difficulties in a developmental or family system light. However, some difficulties like depression, anxiety, or panic, can be based more in unhelpful interpretations of events. Further, some problems are spiritual conflicts or biological difficulties. Each person is unique. Often complex or long-standing problems are rooted in early experiences, which have shaped fundamental approaches to relating. 

Whatever the root of your difficulties, psychotherapy can provide a safe and structured relationship to move beyond these roadblocks. Sometimes this work is longer term and sometimes you can find resolution in a few months.

My education is unique in its focus on how Christian faith interacts with psychological issues. However I welcome clients with differing spiritual beliefs, cultural perspectives, and sexual orientations.  I hold a special interest in assisting Christians to integrate their sexuality into their whole person.
